- We are proud to announce that all our au pairs will complete an online First Aid & Au Pair training before arriving at their host family in the Netherlands from 2024. This training ensures that all our au pairs are well-prepared for their au pair adventure in the Netherlands. During the training, they will learn about the following topics:
Child development:
Au pairs will gain knowledge about the developmental stages of children, age-appropriate activities, and behaviour management.
Basic childcare skills:
Au pairs will learn basic skills such as changing nappies, holding a baby, preparing bottles and meals, dressing children, and tips regarding child hygiene, bedtime routines, and bathing.
Home safety:
Au pairs will be taught basic principles of home safety, including dealing with pets, kitchen accidents, and emergencies.
First aid and medical care:
Here, the au pair will learn how to respond to serious injuries and illnesses. This includes managing cuts, grazes, bleeding, head injuries, bumps, fractures, and bruises. They will also be informed about signs of abuse, treatment of burns, bites, stings, allergies, asthma, food poisoning, and choking.
Outdoor safety:
Au pairs will learn about safety measures regarding transport, water safety, protection from sun and heat exposure, and safety in playgrounds.
Au pair training:
Au pairs will benefit from comprehensive information on becoming an au pair, handling cultural differences, making connections with host families and new friends, understanding expectations, and ensuring their personal safety.
